In June 1959, Price astounded the world with his proclamation in Scientific American, deeming the Antikythera mechanism as an ancient Greek computer.

This remarkable device operated as an analog computer, utilizing intricate wheels and gears rather than digital technology. Its unparalleled complexity for its time paved the way for a similar device to reemerge almost two millennia later in the 1800s.

However, the mystery remained: What function did this ancient Greek computer serve? The answer lay hidden in the meticulously etched inscriptions on the device. In 2005, an international team of researchers, part of the Antikythera Mechanism Research Project, applied advanced scanning technology to create a detailed 3D visualization of the mechanism’s internal workings.
